Magnetic pulls to all points on the compass.
I feel myself torn from the inside out.
Why so many choices? Why such lust?
I know I should let myself in one direction now.
Straight up and away forget the thoughts.
Just keep alive pull through and don't bow
To the world that closes around and plots
To fill me with thoughts that I can't allow.
Troublesome each can be in their own way.
I think I just gotta pull away from them,
But then again away from one is the other.
So I'm stuck here in the middle, why do I bother?
Maybe if I wait, the magnetic force will recede
And I'll have a way out, guaranteed.
So now the compass needle spins
And I won't move till it stops.
Even to their devilish grins,
I don't want to see if my resistance drops.
So I sit back and wait
Hopefully I'm not too late
For the one direction that is true
Unless I missed the turn, in which case, "Adieu!"

Thanks for entering!
This is good. Really good. I think being torn in different directions is something everyone can relate too. And it's also one of the many ways people lose themselves. Best of luck to you!

Beautiful write
We have to fight the good fight of faith we certainly have a life of lessons and trals Jesus said narrow and hard is the way . Jesus say's to live in the spirit and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Enjoyable poem and very edifying.
Blessings!

Deep, and I can relate in some ways.
"So I sit back and wait
Hopefully I'm not too late
For the one direction that is true"
I loved those lines, they spoke the loudest. Really good write!
