See a new day dawns over the sea
Gray light dispels diminishing the gray
Free he walks alone fearing being free
Day light breaks in the soul of a new day
Empty swings still abandoned empty
Two once sat as one now split in two
Beauty abandoned for false beauty
New lust lured away from love he knew
Alone he walks the sands all alone
Hours of sand fall as minutes grind to hours
Disown his own soul did he disown
Showers of shame rain as stormy showers
Pen words on your soul; keep lust in your pen
Men abandon not your beloved women

I love your title and recognized the form as the wonderful shadow sonnet, I need to try one of those.
Perfect title! That lone silhouette must be severed from friends or family or loved one. There is sadness in the lines as you have written how time almost stops when a heart is broken. A very good poem!

Shadow of a Severed Soul
wow that title describes exactly me. I am totally in love with your title. I bet you would get a lot of great entries if you made that a contest theme.
