Priceless Pearls

With a heartfelt cry she voiced herself loudly

and her audience stood up for her proudly

A strength grew within her she could not deny

she voiced herself loudly with a heartfelt cry

Abuse claimed her over the past twenty years

and she lived within the nightmare of tears

Through rough handling, her future's a blur

over the past twenty years abuse claimed her

Yesterdays trials are gone, a new day arrived

an angel of dark fought the war and survived

As the evening closes and night meets dawn

A new day arrived, yesterdays trials are gone

A speaker of strength she is lifes vocal chord

to many folks around her passions adored

This womans given all, she goes the full length

she is lifes vocal chord, a speaker of strength

She reveals her pain to bring peace to others

reaching out for all, sweet children to mothers

Comforting at times hard, she tries to maintain

To bring peace to others she reveals her pain

In the eyes of her children she found her hope

and in many ways they give her strength to cope

Within the trials of life she found priceless pearls

She found her hope, in the eyes of her three girls

Swap Quatrain

Swap Quatrain
The Swap Quatrain was created by Lorraine M. Kanter.

Within the Swap Quatrain each stanza in the poem must be a quatrain (four lines) where the
first line is reversed in the fourth line. In addition, line 2 must rhyme with line 1, and line 3
must rhyme with line 4 and so on, BUT not repeat the same rhyming pattern on subsequent
stanzas.

Rhyming pattern: AABB, CCDD, and so on.

Did a 6 stanza swap quatrain

Can you guess the person

Wonderfully written. After many years of abuse she finds her voice to help others. I can feel her strength to go on.

    My favorite stanza:
A speaker of strength she is lifes vocal chord
to many folks around her passions adored
This womans given all, she goes the full length

This should be a song. It sounds like a story of someone who entertains others with stories of anguish rewoven into tales of passions.

This is a beautiful poem. I really love swap quatrains. Only knew about them for a couple of weeks and have written two. This one uses the "swaps" quite well and is just an all around pretty read.

WOW!!!! This is a super read smooth and spun from a golden heart Nicvely done

  • This blew me away. You know, we can choose to wallow in despair and negativity over unpleasant and hurtful things, or turn that negative into a powerful positive so that others may overcome and gain peace. Powerful write here. Encouraging and profound, to say the least. Great job!

I'm not usually a big fan of rhyme, but I think this one is done extremely well. Swap Quatrain poetry is hard, but you managed to capture it without making it sound forced. Well done, and thanks for the wonderful read!
