Shedding Dead Skin

I was afraid of shedding my skin
I didn't even know how  to begin.
Feelings of past would run throughout my head
my heart and soul overtaken by dread.
I didn't know if I'd even succeed
thinking that I would just profusely bleed.
All new beginnings must come to their ends
and I am still left here with several friends.

Free from my burdens I wear a bright smile
I finally say, "yes, I'll live for a while."
I will move further and write my life's story
and I will bask in life's spiritual glorry.
For even amongst all the drama and strife
you'll find hands extended to help you through life.
All of my dreams will be worth the long wait
I'll leave all the cards in the hands of my fate.

Share with me your interpretations.
