Cat and mouse we were,
me hiding among swing sets and sand castles,
you hunting your prey.
"Seventeen ain't so sweet,
when your guardian angel isn't here to protect you"
your words cut into my adrenaline rush.
I listened for the fall of your foot steps...
waiting...
trying not to breath...
To think you'd given up would be naive,
yet the silence was giving me false pretense.
My life, my innocence, my childhood,
these were all in fate's hands.
I can't justify why exactly you chose me...
I guess misery loves it's company.
Just then, a rustle in the leaves gave me a start,
the gasp that followed is something I'll damn regret.
You grab my hair in the tightest of fists
& shove me face down...
...
....
.....
......
You finished killing me inside
then I feel your hands wrap around my throat...
I can't breathe...
I'm struggling...
For me, for air, for life...
My brain cells begin to atrophy,
As do my lungs.
For this shall be a grim goodbye...
Author notes
I used the album "Don't Fake It" by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus as a sort of word bank... Sad thing is this pretty much happened to me... without the dying part at the end...

this is a vey well penned poem, you expressed your emotions perfectly...
I especially liked this part:
''"Seventeen ain't so sweet,
when your guardian angel isn't here to protect you"
your words cut into my adrenaline rush.''
very powerful, also very descriptive, it made me feel like I was there and seeing it happen with my own eyes...
take care
