No more hiding behind this empty barrier,
I've made the choice to leave it all to you.
Fidgety hands and shaky feet,
I'm the mess begging to be renewed.
Fear has no place in my heart,
yet it's somehow decided it's allowed.
Remove it, take away all the trash.
No longer shall I be held down,
because I trust in you to lift me up.
They'll try to pull me away,
as they've done so many times before.
Please, just don't abandon me now,
don't let the purest thing in my life go.
I'm giving up control and taking obedience,
I have faith you'll know to do the rest.
Their cruel voices and unkind judgement,
let them see as you do.. if only for a moment.
I'm asking to see who you see me to be,
with each answer I find another piece.
I'm not strong enough to continue on my own,
I won't be able to stand against any storm.
I need your hands to guide me,
help me through when the wind pulls at my feet.
Crash me like the waves in the ocean,
be the shore to push me back.
Throw me around like a boomerang,
just let me return to you when I need it most.
