The Joys of Summer Camp

The joy of camping
In a warm summer nightfall
With a breeze blowing

A deck is pulled out
Playing cards until midnight
Till the light grows dim

For scouts there it is
The camp forever friendly
For years that may come

Ahh, the memories of camp! I remember them well, and will cherish them through life; especially when I did survival camp.
You too will take those memories throughout and into adulthood; always reflecting back on not only the fun and joy of it, but the important things you've learned too. There is a strong foundation here, and a reason scouts camp; always remember that!!

Love your linked haiku, you chained them well.
    Good luck in the contest.

I remember one year at girl scout camp it had rained and rained and then over one of the secrions called rainbow ridge was the most awesome double rainbow. The adventures of camp are precious in their own accord. glad to hear that you and your dad have so much fun on your scouting journeys, well done and many loving blessings always xxxx AP Aunt Star xxx

Thank you, I will consider using warhammer, that's a clever idea.

This poem is especially impressive to me because i really don't like the haiku form, but you used it so well that i can't complain at all. I can also completely sympathize with having a camping spot that one can return to year after year that remains dear to one's heart.

A strong entry, good luck in the contest
