Walking up an old country road, taking the time to listen
hearing the small bird singing its song
and the creek tumbling over the rocks on its journey
always let me know I am where I belong
A child laughing for no other reason than just because
the butterfly that just landed on my shoulder
the morning glory that shares its beauty every day
and the little bunny in my garden that is becoming bolder
The rainbow that appeared so majestically
after the thrilling thunderstorm that just rolled through
the fluffy clouds that remind me of cotton candy
and all the exciting times I spend with you
The little hummingbird that is always flying backwards
the stars that are like little beacons at night
the moon that sheds her glorious magical beauty
and even those darn bats who give me such a fright
Friends who take time to let me know they care
whether they be old or new
living with people I can share everything with
even times when I am feeling blue
You ask what keeps me young at heart
all the words written above are so true
and I have to admit I live everyday being grateful
for all my friends at All Poetry and that includes you
