the Heart of a Savior seems warm
but how not when He is bleeding still
Repentance in a different form
And His payment through power of will
There is a nail in the body of our Savior
His blood has been spilled and ignored
He bleeds due to our behavior
And yet what has this earth adored
We adore humans and vanity, jewels and corruption
We adore money and possessions, greed and destruction
We adore government and technology
We ignore divinity and Grace
We raise a generation of ignominy
What is the legacy of our Race?
We will leave behind an echo of our past transgressions
We will never see our annihilation ahead
Before we have a chance to change our aggression
We'll be floating in the fire, burning and dead

Some powerful language and clever rhymes in this piece. The adore/ignore lines particularly stood out for me. Congrats on the trophy.

Thank you! Most everyone has approached this contest with a happy look at the sacred heart and how wonderful it is. True! But, I love that you have described just how gruesome it really is. That is the real power of it to me. The pain and the agony, for us - who are the ones truly deserving. Loved your approach.
Thanks for entering.
