Nature's Song

Across the mountains and the distant seas,
The winds blow above and through many trees,
The Earth sings its night into morning,
Welcoming the Sun with arms wide open,
To her light and warmth, the Earth is calling…

Calling…

The Sun looks to see an expanse of icy-mountains,
Rivers, lakes and ponds of colours a-plenty.
She stands in the midst of the sky like a Queen
Viewing her subjects ready to bestow many a bounty.

Calling…

She extends her light and warmth
To many distant lands,
On to many surfaces, hard, smooth,
Creatures, trees, rocks, and sands.

Calling..

Across the mountains and the distant seas,
The winds blow above and through many trees,
The Earth sings its night into morning,
The rivers rise with the rising sun,
Embracing her as she embraces them.

The Earth sings itself to night,
Calling to the moon and the stars.
Night means not no light,
The moon shines too, not from afar.

Calling..

Calling to the day, then calling to the night,
To the Sun, then to the Moon and Stars to shine bright.
Creatures live, feed, hunt and love
Under this wondrous alternation;
Nature sings its own creation.

Calling…
Nature singing its own creation

Author notes

I was inspired by both the pic and partly the song called "Last of the Wilds" by Nightwish
I hope the rhyme is not too forced..

  • This is so very lovely...you take the colors of the rainbow and have painted this beautiful earth so well...Not many people take the time to really look at the beauty all around them...

    Wonderful!

The rhyme flows! this is a beautiful write! Well Done and congratulations on a well deserved Gold. I had to smile when you said it was also partly inspired by a song from Nightwish.. my daughter just discovered the group through a russian friend she just starting working with and was telling me about it yesterday.. I'll have to listen to them.
I understand something about hearing the calling when I am in the midst of nature and her splendor.
