Mystery Woman

Out of the beauty I see
Reluctant to speak a word
You are a mystery to me,
A voice rarely heard.

A face as lovely as I
Have ever seen veiling a soul.
So beautiful, I cry
Longing deeply to know.

So far away, I cannot caress,
To feel her soft skin on mine.
Will this beauty ever undress
To reveal her soul divine?

I stand at her heart's gate.
Longing patiently I wait.

Author notes

Can you be in love with outer beauty? If that were so, I would be. Yet I know to be in love with a face is not the way of Divine Grace. Man judges by outer appearance, the Lord judges the heart. Oh, Lord, give me your eyes to see her heart.
