And everything was free, and we could do anything
But soon summer will be over and we must realize:
That winter will soon be upon us before our very eyes
The leaves were touched by a nymph's wand
They gently drift down on a smooth calm pond
The leaves will dance and do as they please
For the wind, she knows how to tempt and please
The sky turns to the color azure
With a certain beauty that is true for sure
With great white clouds that pass silently by
In the vast never-ending azure sky
The wind knows that summer
Will soon come to an end
I love summer and for a very good reason
For we can hold on to its memory
Through all the other seasons
Author notes
Azure is another word for blue
So blue is the color I wrote about

i love blue and the hazy, lazy days of summer. you combined the two and brought together the beauty of both. this is so like your heart, sweet and tender. you are nature's spokeperson for you bring to us its thoughts and feelings. thank you for being you.

Pretty as can be, for sure!
Yep, summer is great but I like winter better here in California.
Love your azure sky line.
BRAVO!

Enjoyed
Susan I really liked this and I mean that its a beautiful poem but have a suggestion- Your last three lines- Bring the last two into one statement... So it rhymes with the rest of the poem. I love summer and for a very good reason
as we hold to the memory through all seasons.
Something like that?

Nicely penned to the thought. It flows well from the tongue and brings a smile forth, for sure. Best to you.

THis made me smile. IT just emits a happy feeling. I think everyone loves the deep blue the sky can become at times. Did that come out right? I think so... lol.
Anyway. The rhyme and flow add to the relaxing quality of this piece and the picture matches perfectly! Great write! -
Yes!
I like Summer because Autumn follows. We finally get a sunny day in Spokane to go along with your poem. We haven't connected in a long time. Where have you been? Have a happy Summer!

This is very beautifully written. I am not much on summer because I can not take the heat. But this poem makes summer seem nice. I enjoyed the read!!
-
Ah, this is lovely and gentle, hon.. I don't love the summertime as much as I used to when I was young, but this poem made me remember why I did.. Job well done and good luck, sweetie..

Oh let me enjoy summer before I think about it ending. It is finally hot here in Chicago. We've had rain and cool weather most of June.
Still the poem was nice. I thought it flowed well except for the and in the second line.
The last two lines summarizes the piece well and ties it all together. -
very very nice, and somehow it is supposed to be around 93 degrees today, 93 in wisconsin, who knew?? have a good day sis!
love,
tanya

Excellent
Such a terrific creation. So well express and a beautiful write. Best of luck in the contest.

Very nice write Sis. We haven't had summer here yet. Just a few days of spring it seems. This has been the longest winter I've ever seen. We've been getting alot of rain lately so I'm hoping winter isn't coming again real soon.

ah yeah, summer will end eventually, but it has just begun so we might as well enjoy it before thinking about winter so much - a good poem.

Ah, Nature's palette, azure blue
accented by grassy greens---captured
so well, Susan. I do hope Summer lasts '
long enough for the tomatoes to ripen.
The green herbs are happily giving and giving
and the tomatoes are now countable,
as are all the new buds appearing every day.
I love your breezy piece, which reminds us
time does wait, but moves swiftly with
the seasons.
Love and hugs, dear Susan.
