Chocolate Kisses

Though the color of love can be categorized differently
My heart has trusted you unconditionally
Only because chocolate can mend broken hearts
And cure, you did

Working your magic which replaced the pain with
Teddy bears and delicate hugs
And a new set of matching hazel eyes

So after the rain kisses the ground ever so passionately
And after the rainbow sets over with elegance
Rich muffled flavors protect you and I
The distinct taste of nature's fragrances

But while some say you lack certain complexity
I like to say you are simply misunderstood

Wow Syd, this is a really sophisticated piece, you captured the color perfectly and really did it justice in this one.
By the way, I miss you!

  • Ah this is another lovely one! You poets are making my job of judging harder and harder! I love that you chose to write about brown! And I think that you summed the color up perfectly in the last two lines of this piece. This is a great write that has an endearing quality to it
