Hate enters hearts like a winter blizzard,
obscuring the truth with deception and lies.
Withered popinjays clinging to the past,
govern with tactics that invite scrutiny.
The people still remember the ones that died
and those that vanished without a trace.
Sick of the Shah, faith overthrew tyranny,
only to spawn another dictator.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
covets the crown, corrupting democracy.
Moussavi as the defeated wannabe leader,
fuels anger in the youth of Iran.
Don’t acquiesce to religious slavery,
shout "Allah O Akbar!" from every roof.
Let Neda's death become your rallying cry
and fight the injustice oppressing you.
Recognize the equality of women
as they march and die alongside men.
Don’t be discouraged, for your cause is just
and the whole world’s watching and praying for you.

I enjoyed this as an interesting write, and current.
Might be better if the praying stopped though, as this seems to be the connection to most of the ills of the world, and it's time humankind evolved, and educated itself.
Those self appointed with direct phone lines to some invented god, are a pestilence. I feel for the young Iranians, saw Neda die, and so much blood for such idiocy. I hope they can oust the slimey cleric morons, and get some sort of democricy that works for them.

Interesting.
I really like the first line, it's captivating. -
Not bad ...
but the rules say that the backgrounds must be green. You have time to change the background, but to stay in the contst, the background MUST be green.
