I could fit my foot

hanging over the side.
my shadow rests against
the damn old walls.
a painting of cats and
dogs looms over the pull-out bed.
bag of music next to my
leg - screamadelica, etc etc
furniture around me - the kind
you'd find in charity shops.
not tired now - I managed
ten hours sleep.
don't want to use the toaster
because there is filth inside of it.
