Throughout my short life there have been
Many lost and neglected things
Such as, for instance, this un-used coupon
Sitting on the desk.
Another example I recall
Was that of several cheques I received
For my labour in my teenage years
But I forgot to cash.
This will sound quite odd
But the reason I didn't do the prudent thing
Is quite simply
I did not know how, or felt foolish to ask.
That is a short summary of this short life
Un-used coupons
Are all that I can see
And all that I can think about as I waste life.
Author notes
It's not even a good coupon. Can get a better bargain every tuesday at the same place. That wasn't really poetry was it?

very insightful poem
i see this poem as aspiring to point out the bigger things in life we somehow for some reason, neglect, ignore or forget about! You have a nice way with words and it shows in this poem! I have no suggestions for this poem, good job, -jeff
