You grew up in a world that does not see a woman as an equal.
You stood up against a tyrant.
Your valor in the face of extreme danger reminds us all.
That though a rifle shot can still the heart.
The voice carries thoughout the world.
As the blood ran from your lifeless body, could you know.
That the blood is the same color as ours.
We can do more to honor you by remembering your courage.
By going out and voting for those in office that will bring us honor.
Dear Neda perhaps on Iranian soil you died, but are a herione to us.
We can never forget your sacrifice.

No doubt many of you have seen the pictures of the beautiful girl that was shot through the heart because she wanted to make her vote count. Sad.

your poems are allway superb you never waffle on about nonsense....you allways have a fight for a cause behind your poems...here you dedicate your poem to a brave young woman....and in doing so we remember all those who give thier lives for another.....the ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate act of love.....

She died with her eyes open, while many of us live with our eyes closed. Beautiful write that transforms the quote for the contest into vision that is seered into all of our minds as the face of courage...great job poet.
