Around my neck there hangs a key
A little piece of jewellery
Rusted chain and dismal shine
Many feelings intertwine
What shall this symbol represent?
A new beginning? Time well spent?
Perhaps a token of my past
Or balance that was made to last
It could be the phrase "Why not?"
Or some desire clearly sought
But no, the meaning clear and true
Is I decide what's salve or yew
A key can lock or unlock doors
Ultimately the choice is yours
