doomed

either porous earth
or leviathan devours
with no bomb shelter
for brittleness of bone

each acre of arable land
shall eventually wither
beneath cruel clock face
stringency shadow demands

even sun shines injured
by the ever dwindling span
as ashes beneath atomic level
bode for sources of luminance
