of loneliness, birds and blown out stars

Missing image
loneliness is a mourning loon at my window
the only thing left of night
is the shards of sleep that couldn't find me

and I wait for you....

to blow out the stars
and take down the moon
to differentiate night from day
sleep from wakefulness

the birds have it all wrong, singing in the dark
maybe they're calling for you with the voice I can't find
if only they knew the words on my mind:

I need you.

This is love, pure and true, whole and actual, expressed as only one deeply in love can express it. This is the feeling that comes with having your whole heart all in one place. It is so hard to write of for it can not be measured or compared because it is bigger than the sky, yet lives in the space of a heart. The words for love elude us. Try as we might, we never quite capture it.

You have come very close indeed.

    Excellent.

Lovely projection of emotional content ...

shards and fragments pulled together from obscurity in clear-cut poetry.

    Well done.

One suggestion: no need to use capitalization for need ... the simple statement is an exclamation in itself.

    Love to you, Poetess.
