Dear Juana,
Since we first met yesterday, I’ve written a short poem about you.
I’ve called it ‘Across the room’ and hope you like it:
It was a zephyr breeze
that moved you
from across the room
to my side.
Not strong enough
to falter your step,
lessen your perfume,
or disarrange your hair.
Your smile, your soft moist-lips,
presaged the music of your voice
as it lilted your:
"Hello, I’m Juana”.
It was as though my thought:
"Come and talk to me." had,
by a long dormant telepathy,
been transmitted only to you.
I’m counting the hours that I must wait before we meet again and we can talk some more about our love of poetry. Perhaps you’ll bring a poem with you. Please do.
