tonight
you hung on my wall
caught my eye
Compelled
I stopped in my tracks
Stared at you
at the shoulders I rested my cheek to
the lips I kissed
that one night
the eyes that I so often
got lost in
the arms that held me gently
and a feeling of love
stronger than ever
rose up from the depths
of my being
flows from me even now
smiling
at nothing
as I write
feeble lines that never really capture
the feeling
the moments between
I'm alive with the knowledge
of your existence
with the knowledge
of the power
greater than any of us
power irrefutable
the power of love
undeniable
you hung on my wall
caught my eye
Compelled
I stopped in my tracks
Stared at you
at the shoulders I rested my cheek to
the lips I kissed
that one night
the eyes that I so often
got lost in
the arms that held me gently
and a feeling of love
stronger than ever
rose up from the depths
of my being
flows from me even now
smiling
at nothing
as I write
feeble lines that never really capture
the feeling
the moments between
I'm alive with the knowledge
of your existence
with the knowledge
of the power
greater than any of us
power irrefutable
the power of love
undeniable
Author notes
this is a very old poem that i've just pulled out of an old drawer recently. I'm terrified of fixing it, because it is all that I have left of a very special time. So, changing it is very difficult for me, but it is a work in progress. Just give me time!
