where dreams come from (String Theory)

a spot on my brain
petioles
growing up into buds
a grapevine
a latticework of thought
resonating in the cosmic wind
bringing the string into hum
... and in a dream you were there

you said
you always felt
what i was thinking
something way beyond
intuition

i remember when i looked into
the black hole of Andromeda
the buzzing sound
made me run

and that night
you wore your red shoes
you said that together our Karma was good
and for me to keep swimming
that you would too
because sooner or later
the two ends of the river styx
would snap-back
... touch
bringing us back together

i like these quite personal poems where they're clearly only between the person you are talking to and the writer but the reader understands the love. this is beautiful.

  • you know Newton understood there are laws for the physical world and a set seperate laws for "energies". gravitation, magnestism .... and now quantum mechanics. there are things understood and yet to be understood, this is the paradign we live in that connects us all to everything. Can u feel it ?

there is about this a touch of the numinous. it has that flow of the dream world that makes disparate scenes feel interconected though we are not sure how. i love the imagery and there is a real feeling of hope. the final lines are reallly moving and beautifully written. one to read and re-read again. fantastic.

this river flows from the physical to the ethereal. wonderful concept and those closing lines very poignant. nicely done, bb.

Well, it looks like I've been gone long enough that a lot of people on my favorite's list have had time to post at least one thing.

It's nice to have something to read of yours. Your poetry is always strong but I don't find them one as strong as others.

I don' know why I think so, so much but your heart doesn't seem to be in it. Or, at least, I can't feel it in the words. The exception would be the third stanza. I loved the reference to Andromeda and the subsequent action after it.

Don't take this bent. Just thoughts. Dump them to the side, if it suits. I'm kind of tired and aggitated anyways, so my words are probably un-necesarily sharp.

When I saw the title I first thought: Black and White. I know very few that dream in color...
Thought provoking as usual. Red and blues are the main colors I can depick from my dreams, nightmares, and day dreams.

You've given another view on this...

    Thank you for sharing this!

  • there's a tinge of sadness with this
how elegant it is with the image of the red shoes

and especially the ending with the ...touch part
