Gently...
I lay you down to rest in the arms of angels
a mystery how you came to be here in the first place.
A light that shone so brightly, a perfection
where no perfection finds a home.
I would weep, but somehow that is not enough
my heart is heavier than this shell.
You are beautiful, so beautiful the angels
seem to be taken aback and speak in song.
I place a flower in your hand and speak
"Will she be happy now? Can heaven hold her?"
Whispers of love flow from the tongues
and heaven carries her onwards.
Gently ...

Author notes
I hope this is acceptable, for some reason when I read that poem I wanted to capture beauty, or something beautiful, but frail, like a rose that grew for only a day in a sea of snow. I don't know if my ability matched the desire but I hope this in some way is enjoyable to you and any others reading.

For some reason, this entire poem reminded me of Angels by Sarah McLaughlin. It's amazing, but I find it almost clichè. Still, wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
