A Writer's Lesson

A writer's life is never through
There's always something he must do
As for what, I always knew
record experience given to you

But when a writer starts to drown
and words and rhymes no longer found
Their life seems empty, burnt to the ground
The meaning of life their mind does hound

But when they stop fighting so
And let their minds take it slow
Their words they'll see on paper glow
And so they'll write, their words in tow

Never does a writer see
How much those words mean to be
They set them off, set them free

And never again will they flee

Author notes

This is exactly how I feel. If you go back and see the dates of my other work, you'll notice I've been gone awhile. I never thought I'd write again, but now I'm back to something, not quite the way I was before, but Its good to be back either way, as writing is my life.

How could this improve?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

You always have a place in my heart!

Writing is a way of life. You might have thought you could do without it, but it knew you would return! It's in your blood and spirit. Though the words seem to "not flow" at times...they are really always there. I love you, Dad
