Nighttime in Iran
"Allah is Great"
shouted from darkened buildings' rooftops
from the sky today
hovering over the masses: helicopters
a noxious liquid drops
tear gas, beatings
a bloody, bullet-ridden woman's body
in the street
lipstick revolution, dubious election
water cannons
unwilling to accept defeat
the brave, the many, in a human stream
a future uncertain
echoes of other nations, the fallen, cries of the past
women's rights, freedom,
an end to oppression
May the Day Dawn in Iran at Last...

Very moving, especially when reading it just after watching 'Enemy at the Gates.' Nice write.

any nation that puts down its people is sad ...and even some western nations have history of it ...its the old story we should clean up our own back yards ...we should not tolerate any form of oppression ...look at Palestine as well ...whats happening there ..are not children and families being bombed at the dinner table...no my friend we should spotlight ALL oppression not be selective ...an excellent write and dedication to all who live under the military fist...
