sharpie lies on my body
put there by society
why can't I see?
god gave me eyes
but they've become diseased
why am I blind?
"sharpie truths, my dear"
says the mirror
but the scrawl
is backwards
you see
when you look in the mirror
is anything ever exactly as it should be?
mirror, mirror
who is the prettiest?
it's probably not me
mirror, mirror
I shouldn't believe the lies
society's backwards
like the mirror in my eyes
Author notes
Was written for a contest but I went over the line limit and rhymed when they wanted free-verse. I didn't want to scrap this though...

It was really good, I also liked the picture a lot.
And when you said sharpie lies, it reminded me of myself...because I've written on myself with sharpie like that.
Anywho the imagery was good along with the word choice.
It's a shame you couldn't be in the contest.
I liked it a lot
