Paradise Lost?

Life out of balance, the world is torn asunder.
How did it get this bad? Makes me wonder...
Don't most people hope for goodness and light?
So how did we manage to destroy all that's right?
People fighting constantly, it's such a shame.
Some wish for power, money, or fame.
Peace and love have been pushed aside
To make way for destruction; so many have died.
I can't even fathom what we've done to each other.
This is our only home world; we don't have another.
We treat our earth as if we could replace it.
We are stuck here for good- we might as well face it.
What we do to our planet, will come back to haunt us.
After all these years, it may just not want us.
We were kicked out of Eden for obvious reasons...
Mankind destroyed the garden in just a few seasons.

Is there time to change this catastrophe?
A feeling inside says there just has to be!
We have one chance to make things right
Before we slide into the final goodnight.
I wish I knew what it was we had to do.
I guess the first step is talking to you.
Communication now flows everywhere.
Perhaps this will help prevent our despair.
If like minds can bring themselves together,
We just might make this Eden last forever.

Interesting. I don't know about the last line though, because in all the previous lines you aren't really describing an Eden. Maybe something like "we just might make this an Eden forever?" Because you seem to be saying that it's not Eden, but it could be. And I like the message and I share your same thoughts.

I also thought it was interesting how you noted how we were kicked out of Eden, so... it really wouldn't be unjust if we were kicked off the earth for all we do to it.

    Thanks for entering.

I like this. I'm trying to get away from rhyming, but some of that stuff is still good. And this reminds me a lot of the type of stuff I write. Angst and hoping the world will unite to constructive works instead of destructive. Anyways, call me sometime soon bro.
