That Day

Soaring through the air,
Letting go of all inhibitions,
And yet, still safe, secure,
Hand in hand with freedom.

Heads turn, screaming,
For life or death, I can't tell.
It doesn't matter anyways,
Because I'm falling

Faster and faster.
The smile plastered on my face
Does not fade,
Even as I hit the water.

I'm ready for my future,
For my life,
For my love,
For you.

Author notes

i was in camp when i wrote this. we had a huge waterballoon fight, then a big group of girls went up to the pool. we all held hands and, with all of our clothes on, ran and jumped into the water together.

What did you think of my poem?
