My night that night
Was like any cliche
You've read about or dreamt
My body was a stumbling mess
Covered in blood, legs going numb
The steady drip-drip of crimson tears
Announced my fumbling steps
I tripped upon a renegade squall
And cried out in sharp, sudden pain
Crawled against a forgotten wall
To wait for Death and his mighty Scythe
Hurry quickly, Dark Prince!
But the hours stretched onward;
I would not be given solace quickly
My body shivered violently against the chill
Of Lifeblood's escape
A sudden rocketing shock of pain
Stirred my mind briefly, and my eyes wandered
Looking, looking, looking...
A mess of damp hair greeted me
It shook with the silent sound of tears
It must have been raining silently
A crash of thunder shook the heavens
Lit the tiny pit of hell we were in
And the crying ceased
Faint rustling, like the sound of trumpets,
Marked the rising shadow
It turned slowly,
And I was suddenly sure Death had come
"...-right?"
I couldn't hear...
"A-...you-..."
My eyes and ears were losing strength...
"-re...ou-...alrig...?"
The shade moved toward me
Another flash of lightning
Marked his visage clearly
"Are you alright?"
A moment of beautiful clarity!
The voice did not rasp
Like wind against bone
Faintly, I nodded slowly
To this unknown and yet heavenly creature
"I'm... I'm Alkaline."

This piece is a dedication to RP characters with Tekno Suicide and myself - Alkaline Rose and Reno Desmin (Renaline!!!) - that struck me in the last few hours of yesterday. My alter-ego, Reno...

It's sometimes hard to keep those alter-ego's in check, isn't it?
Anyway, I loved it, and it makes me wish I knew the characters better...

Seriously, I did that after reading
This was a fun read, and the imagery stands out pretty clear in my mind. I can picture Reno at death's door and seeing Alki stumble over his body. So kudos to you on that.
