In life my dad was an angel too,
made me smile my whole life through.
Taught me to smile and to accept,
when others were foolish or inept.
Taught me there would be a tomorrow,
no matter how deep would be my sorrow.
As a trucker on the road at dawn,
down the highway and the hills beyond.
Traveled around and learned much of life,
did the best he could for children and wife.
Memories of laughter and hugs at night,
his voice joked, don't let the bedbugs bite.
Rides in the country with Hires root beer,
dad and granddad full of love so dear.
Frogs and carp in our back yard pond,
so many memories loving and fond.
God felt your work on earth was done,
in Heaven with mom and my sweet son.
Three angels now that is what they are,
each of them now a bright shining star.
Author notes
My dad passed away in 1992. He was the greatest dad to me. Gave me my sense of humor and love for life.
I always knew my dad loved me and he taught me to be compassionate and smile when things get tough. He was very easy going and full of smiles. I miss him. The picture was one he gave my mom when he was 25 and in the Navy. Love and miss you Dad.

This is a beautiful tribute to your dad. I miss my dad also. He was so good to me and loved me more than one can imagine. I know at times i dissapointed him, but he still loved me. He was quite a man.
