Unforgettable Night

It’s been over a year,
But you still haunt my dreams.
Such a laid back attitude and pretty lies,
Who knew that you’d break me at the seams.

I was heartbroken and vulnerable,
You must have seen it and thought you would score.
I should’ve known better and been more aware…cautious,
I left your house feeling dirty and broken to my very core.

Oh so smart, not to have marred my body,
Leaving the scars etched into my soul.
Now my hatred knows no bounds,
As I’m left shattered and without any control.

I thought that was the end of it all,
My mistake, that was so naive of me.
You were everywhere I looked,
Causing panic to arise and me unable to break free.

That was then and this is now,
I’m stronger though not quite complete.
Filled with shame, disgust, and regrets,
From the things I’d rather not repeat.

Forgetting it ever happened is bullshit,
But it’s easier to deal with here in my special place.
Now I can go on and live my life,
Hoping one day the memories and fear will erase.

it's been a while since i've looked over yur work, but this was refreshing to come back to! i want to say i can relate, but that never does anyone any good.. i can say that i've been through some of the things you imply, and i applaud your ability to express your feelings about it! Keep it up there's a reason you're my only favorite!

  • Chilling read.
I could feel the pain as i read each word.
I know too in a way how it feels though i will not go into my situation but i see her still almost everywhere i turn.
The only thing that i find can ease any feeling is writing.

Keep the pen inked and the paper clean

wow, this is totally unique and you hit on some serious issues with this one, how he was everywhere you looked, I can relate to this totally and it is just pure strength to be able toget over someone who has decieved you. thank you for this, I too have a Ex- who I miss but he was unfaithful and he left me for another. anyway, today i am fine with no regrets , but I still want to see him!!! great writ

  • let the bull take a shit

I liked your poem, you seem to be alive to me, so much more so then all the people who never "...left your house feeling dirty and broken to my very core." I liked when you wrote that you were going to go on and live your life though, sometimes I think a person who has been broken decides to stay that way becuase like having a lifeless spirit.

  • feels like I should say something enlightening and profound in scope...But I'm just a man who has made many mistakes in my life too...These feelings have more to do with YOU than with the other person. As long as you continue to move through it you will eventually find the comfort you need to move forward in the most healthy way possible. Don't be so hard on yourself!!! peace and light, Kendal
