my foot dangling off the back porch
swing, a steady rocking in honeysuckled
breezes.
flickering leafy shadows cross
my face, tempers my soul to
sleep.
as I wake;
you are leaning against the railing
looking off into the distance, clad
in jeans & bare feet, your shirt opened
to the waist.
a smile greets me with a taste of
peaches, remembering how you trembled
for me, touched my soul to weep.
vivid colors of us laced together
unyielding, a lyrical song shared earlier
still on your face, reflecting nothing less
than brilliant.
your hands so lovingly speak what your
mouth does not say, on a table by the bed
a poem you’ve written on linen paper with
the edges frayed .
I’ve received many beautiful things
in my life time, diamonds fit for a queen
oh how they sparkled and shined.
out of all these
experiences, nothing has stirred my heart
more than your words so lovingly penned
on a simple piece of paper
And it reads:
in all of life’s uncertainties,
when you are bent like a reed in
the wind, I will be the rain that covers
you, a solid ground to place your
foot, a loving body to nestle by
on Sunday afternoons; my
love, I will be here
for you

( Guess being 15 does close your mind sometimes, doesnt it? Still, you have a masterful control over the language.
