Huck Finn's Wings to Freedom

Away to freedom, Huck flies away
To his own happiness, in his own way
For filling his dreams encountering misfortune
His youthful mind shows his concoction

Two elderly women brought him up by preach
"Sit up straight," one would teach
He refuses to go to Sunday school,
It is againts his thought, 'sivilized' is just a fool

Huck's drunken abusive father known as Pap
Works Huck until his hands are chapped
Abuses poor Huck, making him work as he drinks
Huck escapes from his father, as endless days he thinks

Tormented by frauds named King and Duke
Day by day watching them make him puke
Their lies and schemes malicious and evil
They want fame so Huck and Jim have to kneel

Away from civilization
Away from Pap's education
Away from two devil's greed
Done in Tom Sawyer's way, all Huck needs

For this task you'll write a 20 lined poem that depicts the theme of freedom in the novel, Huckleberry Finn. Therefore you must write a clear thesis [I got points off for this] representing the theme to be proven at the top of the page. The poem must be written on school lined paper and must demonstrate a rhyme scheme. The poem must include the name of the 'said' character as well as details (such as names of places and people)from the novel.
Rubric: 10 points for clearly written thesis
10 points for meeting the line quota in the poem
10 points for rhyme scheme
