She sniffs the sweet mellow country air,
in through the car window as if she might miss something
by stopping to catch breath,
always excited as every journey leads her to new surroundings.
So glad to be away from the domestic life
and the chain that comes with it.
Her bit of freedom means the world to her,
it can be seen in her face.
You can even make out a smile
as she looks up with adoration
wagging her fluffy little tail.
