A summer breeze
always reminds
me of you
I scent
you’re fragrance
fresh cut grass
slip tenderly
into view...
and I simmer
in the warmth
tender breath
of you near.
It wasn’t easy
holding on letting go
Learning how to smile
-without you-
Peeling through
farewell layers
Sipping widow tears.
-quietly-
Each day I will
....will myself....
To grow stronger
- to honor you-
For the one thing
They could not
…BURY…was…
-my love for you-
A summer breeze
…will. always....
Remind me of you.

Author notes
Contest prompt: Aegis of Heimdel Auditions
I've learned (painfully)
lost love whether it be
living or six feet under
aches the same tender
-pain-
poetry has taught me
the strength of our INK AND WILL
is no match-for-any pain.
-to honor-
is to not drown
but to live-through-our tender tears.
(I wrote my greatest fear)
(we bought a new riding mower
and my hubbs has gone insanely
compulsive...daring the weeds to
grow so he can mow ..smiling
ear to ear.
(it must be a "guy thing" )
MEN!
(will we ever understand them?)
