Heal

~

Once again, she is there, I swear;
She’s sitting, with that ‘door knob’ stare.
When I come slowly down the hall
she couldn’t care less ‘bout me at all.

Little she knows of the pain I’m in
and she acts like caring for me’s a sin.
Near the front door there’s keys beneath
a shelf, dusty collar, and leash.

Just dying to hear “Wanna go out?”
But my heart’s full of fear, trembling, doubt.
Confused? I know; no one’s ever hit you.
All you are is a cute ‘lil Shih Tzu.

Some day, I promise you’ll chase me,
Vikki Mango Bongo Gracie
(deep breath) Roadkill Santori Rose.
I’ll give you my love ...I suppose.

What a lovely poem you wrote for Jenny's dog, the pup with the extravagant name.

    LOl ...

    this is clever.

I had a neighbor once who had a dog that barked 24/7 and it nearly drove me bonkers. Then a family of Vietnamese moved in next door to me. Within a couple of days, the dog disappeared.

Funny thing. I didn't miss it at all.

Thank you for stopping by Jim. I once lived next to a townhouse that had one of those basset hounds. The lady owner lived alone and as soon as she's go to work that thing would let out the most mournful howls over and over again until she came home again. About drove me nuts! I mentioned it to her but she didn't really believe me until I actually recorded the dog and played it back to her. lol Oh I was glad when we moved from there.
