Diary

Would you like me to relate to you?
I could end it all now if you want me to.
We’re breaking apart, with all these secrets you hide;
you’ve locked yourself away, no room to confide. [Do you like that?]

All is fair in love and war,
but you my dear, want nothing more
than to love the memories of secrets locked so tightly.
Starting to fade, your eyes don’t shine brightly. [There is no love]

I’ve let myself become a version of what I never wanted to be,
living for no one, dying for anyone,
what has become of you and me?
It’s getting in the way again... [Do you like that?]

Burn the memories, burn the pages,
it won’t be in the way anymore.
Burn your heart, burn your soul,
and loving you won’t feel like a chore. [Would you like that?]

I turn away, desperate – I want it all,
I want to be the one who catches you when you fall.
There you go writing in that diary,
about the one person you wish I could be. [What have I become?]

Just be mine – there’s nothing to hide
I should be the only thing in which you need to confide.
But once again I walk away
only now I’ve got one thing left to say:

Do you like that?

wow I can feel the power of the music that plays this piece its gotta be a song Sarah ..you Rock Lady and so does this rollin piece ...

  • Ooh. Brilliant.

And hey--you know how to rhyme. Extra brownie points.

I loved the repetition--combined with the usage of actual lyrics, but without "copy-and-paste"-ing the lyrics.

So you know what you're doing.

    And I like that.

Great entry. I'm impressed on finding a good one so early in the contest.
