Beautifully Imperfect

She so young. Trying hard
in school. No one knows what
goes on at home. She tries to be
that picture perfect child. But she
knows deep down she can't be that.
She cries silent tears as she gets yelled
at more and more for her failing grades
in school.

12:30am she hasn't been to
sleep yet. She's not able to
sleep until all her work is
done. Her eyes are weary
her head throbs with pain.
Wanting to close her eyes she
can't.

She lowers her head knowing
she should pray. So many things
just keep getting in the way.
She cries out to God, "Please
help me get an A." Opening her
book she learns what she didn't
know.

Lifting her head up to the
heavens, she smiles. Tomorrow will
be different and she'll have more fortitude.
All she needs is to change her atitude.

Her pary is answered. Her work got
done. She's passing school. Her parents
are proud of her. But for a long time she
was beautifully imperfect

trying to be picture perfect is quite hard even when you try with all your might i run for my school and work hard in class take notes and listen come home cook the dinner and work on homework but forget im still young. i love the write it has me down i just pry every now and then tho.

  • One critique. The pronoun 'she' is used A LOT. You might wanna work on that. On a more positive note, I have to say that this write is so my life right now with college and crap. It's kinda strange how much it resembles it. Good job! I can't wait 'til it is done!

Yes, there is hope. We try to do it or fix it all on our own, there is a better way. Trust in HIM, HE cares about every aspect of our life and will help if we will let HIM. Wneed to get out of his way.

    Nice and positive....

For years after I finished my degree, in Arabic, I would get an identical night-mare: in it, I would suddenly realise that I had not done any Latin at all since the first day; it had just slipped my mind for three years! It was a wonderful reief to wake, and remember that I had got the degree, and that Latin did not form part of the course,( although very helpfully a collection of classical Arabic verse was written in Latin!)-the explanations, that is.

I would just say, though not very forcefully, that the odd rhyme makes one expect more, and in that sense, it falls in between two stools. Even so, I shuld leave as is.

  • man, this was so me.

Forcing yourself to try never works. And when people express disappointment at your imperfections, it stings. A good write.

  • great job! and perfect title.
