Pour your heart into the mold
of sorrow, for there is beauty
in sadness;
stolen from the dove’s cry,
it chants tomorrow
collected each savored day,
a growing place for the angry
and a perch for the holy.

a good piece penned, aye i concur - i could say agree but we have to stretch our comments these days! being sad is a natural section of life, we have to go through it just as we do happiness, if we did not then we would lose out on life experience.

There is such depth of thought in your work. It is a wonderful experience to read you and see through your mind's eye. This may be a short write, but it is full of meaning. A pleasure to read...Alby

There is beauty in sadness . . . perhaps because it is such a pure emotion, genuine and unaffected and when we feel it, there no doubt about it. Sadness does not play games with our heart and is never confused with other things . . . though it can be dull and numb or aching and tearful that is just how it reveals the depth at which it is at the moment. True sadness can reveal to us, more than anything, who we really are . . . so sadness often represents understanding.
Somehow, in this society, there has developed a perception that we should never be sad . . . while well intentioned, that is so misguided. We need our sadness, our pain, our grief, and our moments of doubting God . . . it is part of what makes us who we are. It is not a bad thing, but a part of our humanity. We are, after all, human and compass both the fallen angel and the risen ape . . . all that is best and worst of us.
This is such a provocative write and has sent me on quite a philosophical journey. Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent.

What a detailed and brilliant addition to this poem! It is so nice of you and also confirms the need for something of this aspect to shared.
It's been a journey for me this last year. Sad is best as, as you said, creates developement.

I thank you so much.

I think sometimes, I do get ahead of my own thoughts hehe or perhaps my thoughts get ahead of me.. Cookie did I make any sence? When you say pour your heart into the mold... I think perhaps about the need of another maybe of the sorrow it speaks of the compassion which comes from love.. Chants tomorrow is the new day the hope the light of the dove cry the holy spirit his will his interceding his outcome to bring surgery upon the heart and mind the situation and restoration again of what the need maybe.. Collected in each savor day the mercy which extends through love. Resting for the angry only for his forgiveness and love to spring forth and him love them with open arms even through the anger....Healing through his love peace through his love the hope through his BLOOD and the love of others which can be such a comfort through the sorrow.

you added a facet that I did not realize, Sherry. That without being hurt or experiencing sadness, we can't understand the hurt in others, hence, compassion!
I so agree.
Thank you for your intuitive comment.

Filled with such hope through love filled with such healing through compassion its all bout love filled with such peace through love. Need I say more only beautifully done anointed with God's Spirit in you. Like surgery through the heart and mind through God perhaps a loved one and them... Okay sorry I think my mind is in another direction on this one. Basicly this to me shows the hope through love and the light which comes through the darkness. The doves cry would that be the holy Spirit.... Love U.

Not much to revise .... the sentiment is perfect and the form is effective. Leave it Cookie and consider it just another of your wonderful writes.

Agreed
There are few who recognize the beauty of sadness.
Fewer still, that are willing to hoist that gray banner in courageous defiance. Choosing in its stead, to take the meds prescribed by those who believe you have not the Right to your reality.
correction:
( icarusproject.com , a website that promotes those who reject mind numbing meds )
luv the graphic rain.
