Not caring about anything but this moment?
Would you lie with me as the stars gazed down upon us?
Would you let me hold you in my tender arms
Protecting you from the demons of the night?
Would you lay your head upon my shoulders
As the wind gently blew your saccharine sent
Towards me sending me into a stupor?
Would you gently close your eyes as you listen to
The echoes of your name reverberating off
Of the walls of my heart?
Would you interlace your fingers with mine
As I gently reach for everything I ever wanted
As it rests upon your fingertips?
Would you smile softly as I ever so gently
Brushed my lips across yours
Tasting forever upon your lips?
What if I told you that you were the one
I wanted by my side on those long, cold rainy nights
From now until every tomorrow?
Would you stay with me as I watched
The lightning crackle in the sky and
Listened to the thunder roll over head?
Would you stand with me outside
As the angel's blissful tears fall down all around us
As they witness our true love?
Would you smile at me as I look towards the skies
With a childlike wonder across my face
And my arms spread wide to embrace the falling water?
Would you hold me close as I spin you around
Laughing wildly as we dance in the rain
To the music only we can hear?
Would you come with me as I run down the street
Splashing in every puddle I can find
As my inner child rises to the surface?
What if I told you that you were the one
I wanted to be by my side for the rest of eternity?
What if I told you you’re my everything?
Would you smile at me with your glimmering smile?
The one that sets my heart afire every time
I see it peeking through your lips?
Would you wrap your arms around me
And pull me towards you in a tender embrace?
Would you hold me like you’re holding the world?
Would you whisper into my ear everything
I’ve ever wanted to hear?
Would you tell me you love me?
Would you tell me all my fears
Were for nothing?
Would you banish them all?
Would you stand with me as church bells ring
Above our heads, joining our lives
From now until forever?
I know all this may seem for nothing,
I know I may just be over thinking,
