Hope Springs Eternal

Missing image
A tattered heart grown weary from time
Seeks solace and a day free of pain
Days too long without purpose or rhyme
Harsh are the memories in mind's retain

Life's gentle ways were once entwined
A sense of belonging, feeling carefree
In blink of an eye severed ties that bind
Happiness was no longer a part of me

Lost in rumbles of loneliness, despair
As I sit alone here and ponder my fate
Among dark clouds, a patch of sky fair
Could a brand new day for me await?

Clouds silver linings, new day of hope
Now realize I am blessed in many ways
Upon the bench see beyond the scope
The sunshine just past the purple haze

Faith has a way of easing life's pain
Be grateful when we don't understand
Things the mind and body must sustain
Held up by His footprints in the sand

Half empty or full becomes our choice
Life's beauty also contains rose's thorn
Challenges met while in Lord we rejoice
Rejuvenated, no longer tired and worn

A wonderful poem of self realization that the choice is always ours to decide weather the glass is half full or empty. Your rhyme has a lyrical quality to it and is not forced. I much enjoyed reading this message of possitive attitude and hope.
Thank you for entering my contest.
