A Poem For School? Ick.

It's that time once again,
A time that will always haunt you.
It's the time that turns boys to men,
and annoys girls a lot too!

It's likely that you'll want to run,
and give up, go home and flee.
It's likely that you're not the only one,
and for that you're just like me.

Nervous, maybe even numb.
Even a sweat drop or three.
anxious about what's to come,
and afraid of your own anxiety.

Do not worry, do not fret,
even if it's what you always do.
You cannot worry, you cannot let,
your anxiety get the best of you.

This isn't something passed with ease,
or met with breezy success.
So when you're here, I ask you, please
Throw aside your second guess.

We're all in the same boat,
and would all like stress to leave.
Even with anxiety at your throat,
you must find strength and believe.

You can achieve this feat.
You can meet your goals.
By the time you reclaim your seat,
may your anxiety be filled with holes.

We're all in this together,
All here today in class.
Ask yourself, no matter the weather.
Isn't this all just another pain in the ass?

Author notes

He tells us we need to write a poem or choose any poem in the entire world and read it aloud for about a minute....so uhm...here goes nothing.

  • Great poem, I especially like the second to last stanza. Impressive

    • Thanks very much. He says "Read poem out loud June 17th." I was like...uh well ok...don't really feel like reading anyone else's work aloud but don't have any decent class poems...so I wrote one about the assignment.
Wonder how he'll take it. haha.

Again, thank you. =] Have a great day.
