Prayer is a sense of belonging
Arises in us to commune
With something greater than ourselves
Comes from our humble house
That need be swept clean;
Greed, sexual misbehavior, holier than thou,
The works of the flesh
Whose flame consumes us.
Then we uplift our pleas
For the fruits of the spirit
For our salvation
To be reborn like the first son
Who bore our inconsistencies.
In this recognition of fulfillment
We seek to rid ourselves of vanities
By thee who can work wonders
With the swiftness for your pleasure
For nothing is more important
Than living forth right before your eyes.
