Autumn Leaves - For my Daughter

Newborn one, you come to me,

like a mysterious ripple,

that breaks the smooth surface of a peaceful

pond.

Like a sudden rainstorm,

crashing with thunder and blinding with lightning;

not even a single drop before to herald the

coming onslaught.

Your cherubs' face attacks my banded heart

with a ferocity it was not made to bear.

Defence from such an assault is

laughable

loving you the only choice available.

Like the leaves of autumn, so has my heart

changed it's colors and fallen
