Arena Gameshow "In The Pit"

The wear of the armor
used from warrior's before
have the fatal instinct
a reputation to be a bull
(with epinephrine)

I was lined by hundreds each go in by 10's
to the studio those casting calls

In The Pit
#1 by Nielsen rating
50 go in. 3 rounds of...
we sharpen our blade
to kill with lust
on a scoreboard across the country
via cellphone vote

Nerves shot, never claim to be fighter
but need the money
a $10,000 reward for each round and extra $20,000 for the cyclops monster boss
survived a war my arms and legs still work

Amongst the unit I was the general for command
as I struck in secrecy and misdirection
and they give me a pass
you made it past the preliminary round
go in

Swords clash to pierce through each and every piece of flesh
bled with little effort
this is glory's house
observers with gentle applause amidst laughter
because in the end prizes and women will sit at their feet
I'll just be glad food and rent is paid

Scrapes of fearlessness would not stop the bodies
it's all or nothing
watch pride fall
with limbs
for the dogs to chew to bone

Agog-we lay in tens, dismembered
thousand in cheer
their blood coats my breast plate
a jolt of all the bloodshed and surge that flowed
the giant boss standing there
I slice off it's head and raised it high
proud to be a humanoid
the 6 of us smiling and covered in genocide
all for the purpose of popularity of removing the streets of the poor, characters stand affront
their votes go nowhere but the top of marketing
one day I'll be an icon
or die trying

Author notes

lots of fighting going on here but mostly murder.

  • This was a very...interesting poem that I think could be thought over with a bit more dtail. Nevertheless, well done and good luck in the contest.
