You Were Always What I Needed.

You clung to my hand so tightly, like a frightened child, as if you never wanted to let go.
All while speaking the words that I needed to hear, soothing me, and calming me like the sight of the sunset, or the waves of the ocean.
I let you hold me for my own selfish comfort, loving the warmth that radiated off of you.
You shone to me, and that was all that mattered.
You were like the rays of the sun, always the brightest.
Never realizing how much I relied on you, on your smile and your gentle grace, I pushed you away.
Being the clouds that covered your radiance, the rain that fell on your kind nature. Always holding onto you loosely, as if I wanted you to go, like I didn't need you.
But you were the one I needed to save me, the one that I constantly needed in my life.
The stars that lit up my nights sky, the moon that watched over me, protecting me.
