Tanzania

Long necks stretch into the clouds,
Riping the green from the sky,
Dark raindrops spilling from a crystal sky.

Strips of snow and soot,
Galloping across the savanna,
Camouflaged against each other.

And deadly claws and teeth,

Stare with two yellow moons,

Into the sea of grass.

There you are.

Standing high and unafraid of anything,

The inferno in the sky burning down upon you,

But you are the water.

In this land where animals thrive,

You are the salvation of man,

No meat or bread could compare.

Walk this land with your head up,

And the ground will grow behind you,

People will follow after you,

For you will show them the way.

  • Wow! Um... I'm flattered.-blushes- Thank you for such a nice poem. The imagery is perfect and the message is heartfelt. I might be a bit biased, but I really like this poem!
