My Angel.

My angel has no wings.
She clings to me.
My beautiful angel only a babe.
In my eyes as a first time Ma, this is what she is.
My angel so fragile.
So hard to believe that she depends on me.
My angel has no wings, being only my babe.
She clings to me with her fragile fingers.

  • Pretty special isn't it. And a great responsibility that you've undertaken. This small child, your child, totally dependent on you, not only for sustenance, but to be taught, to learn to become who she will...it all depends on you. Not that I mean to put any pressure on you, lol.

    It's a lovely poem.

I love the imagery of fragility that you portray to us here, which indeed, a newborn baby is indeed - there's a great sense of love in it too.

  • Wow, a stunning poem, I love it
"My angel has no wings, being only my babe.
She clings to me with her fragile fingers"
My favorite lines, I'm just really drawn to them, and I like how they are repeated with the slight change at the end, really good work

    Congratulations on becoming a mum

What a beautiful poem and tribute to motherhood and your new baby girl. There's nothing in the world to compare with the special feeling of being a new mother and knowing that this little person is so dependent on that mother's love and care.

    Congratulations, new Mommie

You've put your heart and soul into this wonderful piece and I wish you best in the contest
