Home is a treehouse

Home for those who know where
The tips of trees meet warm blown air
And sunny blue skies are overhead
Far above this tree homestead
A cluster of great trunks thick and tall
With nets strung round to break a fall
A stream nearby with water cool
We wash our feet; It is a rule
The entrance by stairs is forty-four
Before you reach a small wood door
The branches shield our sun-kissed skin
As a screened in porch receives you in
From here we sit on rocking chairs
And watch the sunset without cares
Next we turn to go inside
When that we're hungry we decide
Before us there opens a majestic hall
Where echoes return to us when we call
For large and vaulted is this room
With skylights where you can watch the moon
A fireplace roars on the north-side
And couches line round the inside
The kitchen is stocked with fresh fish and bread
Hot chocolate, Beef stew, some fruit juice that's red
And friends will gather to play games
And tell us stories while we gaze
Up at the moon, and we'll listen
To the nearby lake whose waters glisten
And fireflies will blink and flicker
As the dark of night grows thicker
Finally we're satisfied
Our tired eyes will coincide
With the perfect time to say goodnight
And tommorrows promise of delight
